A short while ago I began to refurbish my toilet suite, and was astounded at the enormous choice of bathroom fixtures that was obtainable on the net. The colours and models leave one struggling to decide what to buy. I'm not the finest decision maker at the best of times, and all this choice made it even more difficult.

What I had decided on prior to making a purchase, was that I wanted to stick with one of the chief makes such as Toto or American Standard. Their ranges of toilets for sale are vast, the ability to harmonize all the bathroom furnishings, and the after sales and parts service is generally pretty good. I sought to find a toilet for sale that I wouldn't have a problem finding spare parts for, or even replacing with a similar matching model in years to come.

I had the misfortune a couple of years ago to purchase a low-priced standalone toilet in a sale. Subsequent to fitting it in my bathroom it suffered a major parts failure and I was forced to have a long wait to get the replacement item. This is often not an issue, but when you can't use the only toilet in your home it can be a bit of a nuisance.

So, this time I chose to go with one of the major manufacturers to minimise the prospect of this happening yet again. I had heard that American Standard put together some decent quality toilets, and though they are not necessarily the top of the range (even though they supply budget to luxury models), they are a long established and trusted company.

At this point in time in time I am in the process of fitting the unit I purchased, and will write a further article with details of the process. I will also be looking at portable toilets for sale to take on a camping or caravanning trip.
